Saved By Evening Primrose Oil

Back in the day, I used to suffer from terrible PMS and for a while I would even get this horrible thing called mittleshmerz.  If you don’t know what that is you’re very lucky because, once a month, for 24 hours I would be completely and totally out of commission.

Blessed be the person who told me to try taking evening primrose oil. I have no recollection of who that was, but they saved me.  After a month of taking evening primrose oil, I was a new woman.

This type of story is not unusual. Many women unnecessarily suffer from severe pain or discomfort due to their cycles.  While evening primrose oil might not work for you, I strongly recommend trying it. It’s safe for almost everyone, it’s easy to source and the value is real.

This is why I include evening primrose oil in all of my skincare products. In addition to being of help for PMS and menopause symptoms, it is an anti-inflammatory and helps with stiff joints. Not to mention, since I am primarily all about skincare, it hydrates and moisturizes the skin.

The reason behind the magic of evening primrose oil is its high GLA content. Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) converts into dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid (DGLA), which acts as a direct precursor to beneficial, anti-inflammatory prostaglandins like prostaglandin.

When you eat, or even use evening primrose oil on your skin you are helping your body reduce inflammation and encourage better hormonal function.  The GLA in evening primrose oil helps regulate immune response, promote blood vessel relaxation and helps you to feel better.

With ingredients like evening primrose oil in Navon Naturals, it is not surprising that a little daily schmear goes a long way.
